Most standard trips are open to ages 7 and up.
During high-water season, the minimum age increases to 14 for safety.

Yes. Our rafting adventures are designed with families in mind, offering safe, exciting, and memorable experiences for a wide range of ages. The minimum age is 6 during the regular season and 14 during high water in early June. Children must weigh a minimum of 50 lbs and have at least a 24" chest measurement.
No prior whitewater experience is required. This trip is well-suited for beginners while still offering plenty of excitement for experienced rafters. The Salmon River near Riggins features mostly Class III rapids with Class IV potential—big waves and fun, splashy rapids that create unforgettable, long-lasting memories.
Before heading onto the river, our professional guides provide a thorough safety briefing and paddling instruction so first-timers know exactly what to expect. Once on the water, guides handle all navigation, allowing you to relax and enjoy the ride.
Trips are offered from June through September, with conditions varying by season. Safety is always our top priority. All guides are licensed Idaho outfitters with current first aid and CPR certifications.

We recommend quick-dry clothing, water shoes or secure sandals, sunscreen, sunglasses with a strap, a hat, a refillable water bottle, and personal overnight gear for multi-day trips.
